Italian restaurants, sub shops, calzone counters and Italian delis sit next to the pizzerias on this site because most of them bake pizza too, often from the same dough. Full-service Italian restaurants take reservations for dinner, add a tip line for table service (15-20% is customary) and usually run a cheaper lunch menu on weekdays. Sub and sandwich shops are counter-order and quick, with sizes by the inch or in half and whole lengths. Calzones and strombolis are priced like a medium pizza and are large enough to share. Italian delis and bakeries sell by weight and by the piece, and many close mid-afternoon.
The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 11 am–7 pm. It is closed on Monday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (217) 800-5726. The Baldarotta sandwich was phenomenal. The flavors pop and the bread is perfect. Will be back on my next trips through.

This is genuinely the best restaurant in CU area. We got the Porketta loaded fries which is pictured. We also got the chicken parm and the hot Sicilian sandwich which didn’t make the picture before we ate it… you could throw a dart on the menu and be impressed every time. While the food was amazing, the service was top tier as well. The chef came out and delivered our food and had such an amazing energy! If you are considering going here, PLEASE DO!!

Phenomenal food. Fresh, authentic Italian style, fresh deli meats are very quality. Pecorino fried are perfect- not too heavy or rich, the perfect flavor profile. Owners are very kind and care about their customers. Great portion size Ordered the spicy guido and pecorino fries

I found Baldarota’s randomly while getting my bike fixed nearby, and it turned into such a great surprise. Their hot sandwiches were a total wow moment—so good that I brought my husband and my kid back the next day to try more. They loved the gelato and desserts too. The owner/staff are very friendly and chatty. Definitely a spot we’ll keep coming back to!

OVERALL RATING 7/10 I have been told by several people that I should try out Baldarotta’s. Here is my review: The location of this quaint little restaurant is off on a quiet side road. If you didn’t know what you were looking for, you will miss it. This restaurant is the definition of a “hole in the wall”; but let me tell you, this restaurant is a “diamond in the rough”. Walking up to the restaurant, I noticed that there is outdoor seating with several patio furnishings. Upon entering, there is hip-hop music playing with approximately 15 tables at the entrance and additional seating in a private room. Speaking of seating, there is a theme to the restaurant tables and seating where they are all different. As an example, you can be at one table, but have four different type chairs at the table. The place has an excellent vibe of character that makes its presence known immediately upon entering. The tables were all clean and the bathrooms are quite large and girls have several stalls. There is no large menu board; rather there are paper menus next to the register. As far as the food; we had the Baldarotta, Goddfella, and Porketta Fries. The food was absolutely amazing. It took 7 minu
